What is sensitive skin?
In the previous article, we briefly mentioned common knowledge about sensitive skin. Today, let's elaborate on what sensitive skin is.

Sensitive skin refers to the skin barrier function being damaged. After the skin receives trace or small amounts of irritants or sensitizers, it will become unfit and intolerable. It is mainly manifested as erythema, edema, desquamation, itching, pain, etc. on the skin, so the main reason for sensitive skin is that the skin barrier function is damaged.
The most important skin barrier is the skin stratum corneum. The stratum corneum becomes thinner or has abnormal structure due to various reasons, which cannot play a normal skin barrier protective role. These internal and external factors can easily irritate the skin and cause sensitive phenomena. It includes daily cosmetics, which are prone to intolerance, and also include temperature changes. When exposed to cold and heat or sun exposure, it is prone to symptoms such as skin sensitivity, redness, and itching.
Common causes of sensitive skin include congenital and acquired factors, such as improper care or long-term use of ointments or cosmetics containing glucocorticoids. After using it for too long, it can cause damage to the skin's stratum corneum, and eventually abnormal barrier function occurs, resulting in sensitive skin.
